Social Media marketing (SMM) is the strategy of getting attention via social media websites (such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram). In other words, a content on a company’s products or services which is produced to attract the readers is shared through social media websites. Its objective is to broaden the number of customers through existing customers by using social media websites as a marketing tool.
The aspect used here is Social Media Optimization (SMO) which some refers to as Social Marketing Optimization. Though this strategy contributes in boosting up company image, it also has its own negative aspects. So far, the main problem has been complaints of viral infections attached in the links. Thus the readers have to give a second thought about the reliability of the content before they share it.
